However, CADH is also engaged in additional programs and initiaitives, including:
- Practice-Based Research Network. CADH established the Connecticut Practice-Based Research Network (PBRN) one of only 11 such networks nationally, to advance public health systems and service research that will support evidence-based practice and policy.
- Accreditation. In order to improve the health of the public, the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) has developed a national voluntary accreditation program for state, local, territorial and tribal public health departments. Officially launched in September 2011, the goal of the accreditation program is improve and protect the health of every community by advancing the quality and performance of public health departments.
- Strategic Planning Consulting. CADH contracts with local health departments to provide strategic planning consulting services. Having a strategic plan in place is a necessary pre-requisite to applying for national accreditiation.
- Survive and Thrive. This program will provide new local health department directors throughout the northeast with information, insights and resources to support their leadership.
