About Us
The Connecticut Association of Directors of Health (CADH) is a nonprofit organization, comprised of Connecticut’s local heath directors, that works to strengthen public health throughout the state. Since it was incorporated in 1996, CADH has and continues to convene, engage, mobilize, and support Connecticut’s local health departments and fortify their leadership role in establishing healthier Connecticut communities. CADH is a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and is a state affiliate of the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO).
History
The Connecticut Association of Directors of Health (CADH) began in the 1960’s as a membership organization run entirely by volunteers. It provided a forum for local health directors to come together to share local public health practices and to address issues of mutual interest. CADH incorporated in Connecticut in 1996.

Establish CADH as the organization that represents all local health directors in Connecticut and is supported by active participation by its members.
Advocacy
Speak as a collective voice on behalf of Membership to advocate for public health issues.
Local Public Health Workforce Development
Ensure a competent, productive workforce for local health departments.
Promotion/Marketing/Public Relations
Promote universal recognition and support for the critical importance of local health departments.
Health Equity
Enhance the capacity of local health departments, in partnership with community partners and leaders, to achieve health equity through a focus on the social, political, and economic and environmental conditions that affect health.
